Any amateur or professional cyclist as long as they are over 17 years old can participate in L'Etape by Tour de France. Since this is a physically demanding cycling event that requires intensive training, the only requirement is the submission of a valid medical certificate of fitness for competitive cycling practice, issued with a Personal or General Practitioner.

L’Etape Bulgaria on the Tour de France will take you to the heart of the Mystical Rhodopes between Peshtera and Batak, ideally located 120 km from Sofia and 40 km from Plovdiv. A place that attracts tourists all year round and an excellent destination for cycling in the summer. The advantages are also the excellent infrastructure built in the region, the many cultural, historical and natural sights, as well as the exceptional hospitality of the people in the region.

The second L'Etape Bulgaria by Tour de France will take place on Sunday, August 10, 2025

L'Etape Bulgaria by Tour de France is the best experience any cycling enthusiast can enjoy on their bike. You will undoubtedly enjoy a unique experience with an amazing route, a great atmosphere in the village, and a start/finish area in Velingrad.  And because we want L'Etape to be accessible to every amateur cyclist, participants will be offered 2 official formats:

• Keeping the spirit of the Tour for the Race (112km), only road and gravel bikes with drops are allowed.
• For the Ride (58km) course, all bikes are allowed, including mountain bikes, gravel bikes, touring, and trekking bikes. Time Trial Disc wheels, Tri or aero bars are not permitted.

Before the race

• Your personalized race number and personalized registration number;
• A tag in the bag you will leave at the baggage drop-off facilities on the morning of the race;
• The welcome bag: L'Étape from Tour de France bag with goodies from us and our partners;
  • The 112 km package contains a Jersey, a bottle, a Road Book with important information for the participants, and gifts from partners.
  • The 58 km package contains: a Jersey, a bottle, a Road Book with important information for the participants, and gifts from partners

During the race

• Medical assistance throughout the competition;
• Stationary and mobile mechanical assistance will be provided free of charge, including at the food stations;
• Access to eating places during the competition;
• Participate in the official Sprint Challenge & KOM Challenge to compete to win the Tour de France Green Jersey & the Polka Dot Jersey( for the Race);
• If you need to withdraw from the race, we will provide transport to the finish line.

After the race:

• Medal for finishers;
• Access to the Finnish Village, activities and entertainment, toilets, and podium;
• Your official results.
